Folk Art
Homeless people used to live in the sheltered entrances of the closed bank across from my workplace. It was the District's oldest bank, and so I imagine it makes the bank a tough sell -- it's too old and run down to do much with, but it's too historic to tear down. One day in early summer, a group of people came out to the building, kicked the homeless out, boarded up the entrances, and put really scary folk art inside its display windows. The interior of the bank is dirty, the glass is grimey, and overall, the art just makes the place even creepier. |
